Pond Life
$5 per person

Discover the creatures that live in and around a freshwater pond. Take
a closer look at the water boatman, giant water bug, dragonfly nymph and other
aquatic insects that many
people have never seen. Observation in larval and adult stages makes
metamorphosis believable. Find out how these animals have adapted to life
underwater, and how they are all connected to each other. This program
encourages hands-on participation through net sampling of bottom sediments.
Don't worry, we are also likely to see frogs, fish, and turtles.
Walking Sticks

Graceful and colorful creatures decorate
Up Yonda's butterfly garden. Get a close-up view of butterflies, learn how to
identify them, and use nets to try and catch some of them in our field!
Build an Oriole Feeder

Attract these colorful migrants to your property
with one of our attractive and functional feeders.
All our kits are pre cut and ready to assemble.
Discovering
Birds
$5 per person,
(members and Bolton
residents: no charge)
Birds are beautiful and fun to watch. Come
and learn how to identify birds in your backyard. Bring your binoculars and be
ready to hike.
Solar Energy
$5 per person,
(members and Bolton residents: no charge)
This program will feature solar activities with make and take projects that are
fun and informative. We will make solar ovens, and put
them to use cooking up s'mores. There will be solar bracelets that change color
with light. We’ll also learn how to change sunlight into electricity. These are
simple and fun projects that demonstrate the importance of solar energy. This
program is great for ages 5 to the curious adult.

Guest presenter Bob Hodash is a Junior high
school science teacher in California. He has been associated with the National
Energy Education Development (NEED) project for the last 6 years as a national
teacher leader and advisory board member.
Campfire Stories
Night Program

Bring a blanket and get ready for some nighttime
stargazing. We will talk about constellations like The Big Bear and Cassiopeia.
Explore the stars that make up these celestial bodies and the myths behind them.
Starlab

Come learn about the summer sky in our portable planetarium. You will
learn how to identify some of the major constellations and stars, while hearing
Native American and Greek stories of how they were created.

1.) Bugs In A Bag self-guided adventure
Using self-guided props take this fun filled pack on an adventure around Up
Yonda Farm and get an up close look at the wonderful world of insects. These
are available to rent any day of the week.
2.) Pond In A Pouch self-guided adventure
Learn about the creatures that live in a pond. This bag will provide the young
naturalist with all of the hands-on tools needed to take peak at life in a pond.
These are available to rent any day of the week.
3.) Navigation Exploration self-guided adventure
Go on a treasure hunt and find Up Yonda Farm’s Geocaches using a GPS. Learn how
to operate this tool which may lead to many exciting outdoor adventures. These
are available to rent any day of the week.
