Snowshoe Up Yonda Farm

Snowshoe at Up Yonda Farm this winter!

Visit Up Yonda Farm and explore our 3+ miles of easy-moderate groomed trails by snowshoe, take in the winter sights and sounds, and enjoy this winter wonderland! Snowshoe rentals in child and adult sizes are available for on-site use at $5 per day, no reservations needed.

If you’re looking to try snowshoeing for the first time, or want to learn about winter in the Adirondacks, reserve a spot on a Naturalist-led hike, happening weekends in January and February. On the hike, we’ll talk about winter ecology, the history of Up Yonda Farm, and will cover the basics of snowshoeing and animal tracking. These programs travel about 1.25 miles over the course of an hour through the Up Yonda Farm trails and include a stop at our scenic vista point over the lake. Programs finish near the Farmhouse where a campfire and hot chocolate will be available. Reservations are recommended for programs; same day reservations available on a first-come, first-served basis. All snowshoe rentals and programs are weather permitting.

COVID-19 Policies

Please note that Up Yonda Farm Environmental Education Center is a county government facility operated by Warren County. In light of the ever changing COVID-19 situation in Warren County, our current policies are as follows for both indoor and outdoor programs, per Warren County Public Health, guidelines released by New York State, and the CDC:

  • All guests over the age of 2 must follow New York State’s directive to wear a mask at all times while indoors, regardless of vaccination status. More information can be found here
  • Mask and face coverings must also be worn for the duration of all indoor and most outdoor Up Yonda programs. We ask that you follow Warren County Public Health’s recommendation to, “…wear masks or face coverings in crowded public places where you do not know the vaccination status of all who are around you”. These public settings include Up Yonda Farm programs, as our staff will not ask for your proof of vaccination to both respect your privacy and protect staff from confrontations. Masks and face coverings must cover the mouth and nose. Due to the nature of Naturalist-led snowshoe hikes, masks while outdoors are strongly recommended and encouraged, but not required.
  • Please contact us ahead of your program date/time for the possibility of reasonable accommodation for individuals who are not fully vaccinated and/or who are unable to wear or have difficulty wearing certain types of masks because of a disability.
  • We are unable to accommodate guests who are unable to follow these Warren County Public Health guidelines at this time.

Participants registered for any group activity with an Up Yonda Farm Naturalist are notified by e-mail confirmation of the current COVID-19 guidelines for their program as directed by Warren County and New York State.

Please help us keep our Naturalists and other guests safe!
